Rutland College Gets Results!

20 Aug 2009

Students at The Rutland College are celebrating their success today after receiving their A and AS Level results. Their hard work and determination, coupled with support from their lecturers and a range of support staff has led to an increased performance at A2 Level. Out of over 310 A2 Level entries in 24 different subjects the overall pass rate of 98%, 68% of which are at grade A-C, means that students will now be spending the next few days confirming their places at university or going on to employment.

Katrina McCarthy, Director of Operations for Tresham College of Further and Higher Education said:
"We are very happy with our overall A level pass rate of 98%. It is the personal triumphs of our individual learners which add up to the bigger picture of success".

The Rutland College is particularly pleased with the 100% pass rate in a whole range of subjects including: Theatre Studies, Physics, English Literature and Language, Law, Sociology, Geology, Photography, Physical Education, German, History, French, Philosophy & Ethics, Geography, Government & Politics and Graphics.

Mark Silverman, Principal of Tresham College of Further and Higher Education said:

"I am pleased to see that we have increased the A Level pass rate by 2% to 98% at The Rutland College. Congratulations and well done to all the students who have done so well and I wish them all the success in their next step into higher education or employment. We should not lose sight of the dedication of our teachers, who use their enthusiasm and teaching skills to enable our learners to shine. Well done!"

The Rutland College, which is incorporated into Tresham College of Further and Higher Education, is still enrolling students for two year courses starting in September 2009.
