On Thursday 20th September Tresham's Principal, Stuart Wesselby, opened the college's new 6a Sixth Form Academy which will provide A Levels in refurbished facilities .
Tresham's new 6a Sixth Form Academy now offers a total of 21 A Levels including new subjects in Physics, Geography, Graphic Design, Drama & Theatre Studies, Physical Education, ICT and Spanish. The concept of 6a is to ensure students select the correct combination of A level subjects that will enhance their chances of gaining a place on their chosen degree. The A level subjects have been grouped into professional pathways to get students to consider their future employment route and the degree that will open a door to their chosen career.
Students of all abilities will be welcomed at the 6a Sixth Form Academy with the addition of our Pre A Level programme which is being offered as a one year intensive programme for those who want to join 6a but fall short of the entry requirements for the A Level pathway they wish to follow.
The Honours Programme will also be available for academic high flyers whose GCSE results are exceptionally good. Students who gain at least five A* and A passes at GCSE will be enrolled onto the Honours Programme which includes a stretch and challenge program to help young people gain excellent grades.
