Foundation Race Technician Course

Entry Requirements

To gain entry onto the Foundation Race Technician course you must achieve GCSE grade D or higher in Mathematics, English and Science. You must also attend a personal interview to discuss why you have chosen motorsport as a career.

Content

The course has been designed with school leavers in mind that have no previous experience within the motorsport sector, but have the passion and enthusiasm to follow a career as a race technician.

You will cover the core units of working safely and working with others in a motorsport environment as well as practical workshop skills. You will also complete a dedicated National College for Motorsport module on basic race car preparation. Functional Skills will also make up this suite of learning.

You will gain the City & Guilds Performing Engineering Operations NVQ level 1 qualification as well as a National College for Motorsport Race Car Preparation module certificate and the Award in Employability and Personal Development. You will also gain a functional skill.

Progression

Once you have completed the foundation programme you will be assessed on the progression made during the year and if sufficient development has been made you will be invited to progress onto the Race Technician programme. Related Courses Apply for course Back to course listing
