Students get a second chance of success at the Rutland College

23 Aug 2007

Students that have studied for their GCSEs at The Rutland College celebrated their success in August 2007 after receiving their long awaited results. Their hard work and determination along with the support from lecturers and support staff has led to a set of pleasing results. Out of 38 GCSE entries in subjects including Maths, English and Science the pass rate of 99% means that students will now be progressing on to further study, apprenticeships or employment.

Principal of Tresham Institute, Joe West said:

"I am extremely pleased with the results this year; students have reached a high standard. The results reveal the hard work that students have displayed throughout their courses, supported by our dedicated staff at the Rutland College."

Director of Campus at the Rutland College, Alison Hardy adds, "We are pleased to offer our students the opportunity to retake their GCSE Maths and English alongside their chosen course as they are highly regarded by employers and universities alike."

These results have proved to those school leavers who may have been disappointed with their GCSE results that there is a high performing local college that can help them get the results they want.

The Rutland College is currently enrolling for courses starting in September for those who have just received their results. In addition to the wide range of subjects at A Level, the College also offers a range of BTEC programmes in Business, Computing, Sport and Travel and Tourism at both Level 2 and 3 giving students a vocational alternative to GCSEs and A Levels. Furthermore, students are able to combine qualifications in a number of ways to develop their own personalised study programme.

Student advisers are available to offer advice and guidance to people that are unsure of what to do next or that haven't received the GCSE results they had hoped for. People can telephone 01572 722863, visit our website www.tresham.ac.uk/rutlandcollege or pop into the college.
