Teaching Mathematics (Numeracy CPD) in the Lifelong Learning Sector

Entry Requirements

  • You must be teaching Numeracy at 2 different levels in a Skills for Life area for at least 75hrs during the academic year.
  • Evidence of working at Level 3 or above in Numeracy. To enable this we are offering the opportunity to improve your maths skills to Level 3.
Entry is subject to a successful interview.

Content

University of Bedfordshire LogoThis course is offered in association with the University of Bedfordshire.This course is made up of 3 modules covering all aspects of teaching numeracy and which, when completed, give 60 credits towards a BA (Hons) Lifelong Learning Studies.
The 3 modules are:

  • Numeracy Learners, Knowledge and Understanding – 30 credits
  • Numeracy Learning and Teaching – 15 credits
  • Numeracy Resources – 15 credits

Assessment

Learners can progress to the final modules of the BA (Hons) in Lifelong Learning once they have passed the Cert Ed/PGCE and completes 120 credits from the Level 5 Diplomas.
