The Certificate in Education and the PGCE (Post Compulsory Education) courses are validated by, and leads to an award of, the University of Bedfordshire.
Students will take four units in each year. The majority of units will be assessed via written submissions but students will need four tutor and four mentor observations of their professional practice over the two years. The units covered include planning and preparing to teach, bases of learning and teaching, assessment and evaluation, context and curriculum, professional practice and observed practice.

Second Class Honours Degree
On completion of the course, you will be a eligible to apply for QTLS via the Institute for Learning (Ifl). You may wish to progress to a BA (Hons) in Lifelong Learning (subject to availability), an MA in Education or to the Level 5 Diplomas in Teaching English (Literacy CPD) in the Lifelong Learning Sector and Teaching Mathematics (Numeracy CPD) in the Lifelong Learning Sector at the University of Bedfordshire.
