Hairdressing Apprenticeship

Entry Requirements

Candidates must be in suitable employment within the Hairdressing industry and have good communication and people skills. A good knowledge of written English, Maths and Science or an NVQ Level 1 in Hairdressing is also required. The purchase of a salon uniform and tool Kit is also necessary  this will be discussed at interview.

Content

Candidates will cover all aspects of practical and related theory to achieve the NVQ 2 Certificate within the Hairdressing Salons or designated study rooms. Tutorials are held to monitor learner progress and achievement. Key Skills in Communication and Application of Number also form part of the course structure.

Assessment

Candidates will undergo continual practice and completion of practical assessments including short written tests and oral questioning. Completion of a portfolio of evidence is also required. Students may also be required to generated models for assessment.

Progression

On completion candidates may choose to progress onto NVQ3 after 1year working within a salon environment.
