Jane Battersby - PGCE (Post Compulsory Education)

Jane Battersby - PGCE (Post Compulsory Education)Jane is an ICT Trainer at Kettering General Hospital, where she has been working for the past 5 years.  <!--[if gte mso 9]--> Before taking the PGCE at Tresham, she took the Access course and an HND in Business and Finance at the College followed by a further year of study at De Montfort University to gain a degree in Business Administration.

“I came to Tresham to do the PGCE as I didn’t have a training qualification.  Tresham is the only college in the area to offer the PGCE and I had good experiences in the past there.

The size of the groups mean that you have better access to tutors and more chance of having a one to one with them.  I had to plan my time so I could work full time and study.  My employers were really supportive; I was allowed time off to attend classes as the qualification was relevant to my job.

My time at Tresham was a positive one.  The facilities were excellent and the tutors are always available when you need them.”

Jane will continue to work for Kettering General Hospital, using her PGCE qualification in her current role.  Eventually she hopes to take further qualifications including a Teaching Adults Literacy Diploma.
