Aleksandra Armoniene is studying the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Graphic Design on a full-time basis at the Kettering campus. Aleksandra is married and has a four year old son.
"Before I came to Tresham, I was a house-wife and worked part-time in factories, which isn't a glamorous job! I'd always wanted to continue with my education but I moved to Lithuania for my husband where education costs were too high. Tresham is my local college and it was important for me to not have to travel too far from home. The course was also really attractive to me and Tresham meant I could achieve my dream of studying.
The best thing about studying at Tresham is the course, the tutors and the location. Tresham is a great place to be at. To be honest, I didn't really know what to expect with English education but my expectations were pleasantly exceeded. I really enjoy the fact that I can have extra time with my tutors if I need it; and they're always very supportive. In Estonia, where I'm from, tutors aren't supportive at all but Tresham's tutors definitely are!
I did think studying and balancing a family life would be hard but through time management I've found it quite easy. I actually enjoy the routine that balancing my studying gives me and infact I find it easier to get on with my studies because of this.
Once Aleksandra has finished this course she plans to study the Foundation Degree in Graphic Communication course which is held at the Kettering campus and run in partnership with the University of Northampton.« Back to case studies
