Tresham is Backing Young Britain

20 Jan 2010

Tresham College of Further and Higher Education is able to offer local employers the opportunity to provide apprenticeship training to young people in the area. With help from Government funding, Tresham is now offering grants of up to £2,500 for every 16 or 17 year old taken on as an apprentice before the end of March 2010.

In the current economic climate Tresham would like to ensure that there are more opportunities for young people in and around Northamptonshire to ensure that they can gain the vital training for the next generation and economic upturn.

Tresham's Apprenticeship advisers are available to work with employers during the recruitment and selection of apprentices and provide high quality support throughout the training to make sure that individuals complete the apprenticeship programme successfully. In October 2009 Tresham was recognised for its exceptionally high success rate which is above the national average for its apprenticeship training and its work with employers after they were highlighted as one of the key strengths.

Colin Needle. Head of Apprenticeships at Tresham said:
"Tresham offer a wide range of training for apprentices including IT, Motor Vehicle, Engineering, Construction trades and Hairdressing. Many of the employers we work with are small companies who like to take on a young person and provide them with training that suits their business needs. Tresham provides off the job training to ensure that the apprentice further develops their skills and knowledge enhancing what they are learning at work."
