Board of Governors
College governing bodies are technically termed "Corporations". The College's governing body is known as the Tresham College of Further and Higher Education Corporation.
Its members, who are all volunteers, are drawn form the community, coming form a range of occupations and bringing with them expertise in education, business, local government and other relevant sectors of work.
The Corporation works within the powers provided under the Further and Higher Education Act of 1992 and Learning and Skills Act 2000 in accordance with its Articles of Government and Financial Memorandum.
The Board of Governors is responsible for the educational character, mission and solvency of the College, and for setting and monitoring educational standards and targets. Governors make a valuable contribution not just to the development of the College but have an important role to play in promoting Tresham and fostering good relations between the College and the community it serves.
The Governors discharge their responsibilities through meetings of the full Board of Governors and there are three Committees of the Corporation.
There are ten meetings of the Corporation a year. The committees of the Corporation are:
- Audit Committee
- Remuneration Committee (Three meetings)
- Search and Governance Committee
The Audit Committee meets five times a year, Remuneration twice and Search and Governance three times a year.
The Search and Governance Committee assists the Board of Governors in maintaining an experienced and balanced Governing Body and for ensuring continuity in the future.
